Haad Yao or Ban Tai Beach?

I cant choose between Haad Yao or Ban Tai to stay for 3 nights in May this year. I want a quieter area than Had Rin but also want some bars/parties/nightlife at night. Does anyone know what sort of nightlife is available at either place?

Accommodation wise we are happy with bungalows, backpacker style and resorts so not fussed, just want to pick an area with a nice atmosphere to meet other like minded travellers and be entertained at night. We are in our early 30's and still love a party but somewhere quiet to bum around on the beach during the day.

Any suggestions would be great :)

I'd say Haad Hao will suit you better, has a bit of an atmosphere with bars etc, but not crazy like Haad Rin. However, if you want to be within easy reach of Haad Rin Ban Tai would be closer.

Great thanks Cassnu. I am leaning towards Haad Yao :)
