1 night budget acco on New Years Eve'13

Me & my husband are traveling to Koh Phangan for a day on the 31st Dec'13 to attend the Full Moon Party. We have a return ferry booked from Koh Phangan for 1st Jan'14.

We are unable to find any accommodation for a day. Every hotel that we come across requires min 3/5/7 night stay.

We are looking for a budget private room accommodation, where we could safely dump our luggage, while we are partying. Any help would be really appreciated.

you will struggle to find accommodation for 1 night, most, if not all hotels require minimum 3/5/7 night stay around this time

If not a hotel, does anybody know of any locker or something similar, where we could safely keep our luggage?

You don't say where your ferry is to/from - are you staying beforehand in a hotel where you might be able to leave your things? Most hotels are very good with holding luggage for guests.

As has been mentioned, FMP times usually have a minimum stay period and book out quickly, particularly for NYE. You have left it very late unfortunately but I really hope that someone can help you with a suggestion.

Hey Allie,

Thanks for your reply. We are reaching Phangan from Koh Tao on 31st & have a morning return ferry already booked for 1st Jan'14, to Surat Thani, from Phangan, itself.

Ideally, we won't want to rush back to Koh Tao, just to pick up our luggage, before boarding the return ferry.

But, if nothing else works, this looks like the only option :(

I believe that Lomprayah will allow you to leave your luggage with them, for a fee of course. If not, try Seatran. Both of these companies do freight services so they do have a place to store things.

I agree, everything is possible in Thailand for a fee - good luck as you are highly unlikely to find accommodation unless you try somewhere in Thong Sala as soon as you arrive, you might get lucky with some hole in the wall place. You might also consider forfeiting your ferry fee and heading straight to Koh Samui instead where you would have more choice of accommodation and may still find something for the night, you could then make use of the many speedboats heading to the FMP knowing your luggage is safely locked away.

Thanks Khao Lak, will definitely help if these ferry services could safely store our stuff for the night.

Cassnu, going to Samui does not work for us because we have a transfer on 1st morning from Koh Phangan.

Keeping our fingers crossed for now and hoping something clicks.

Samaritans, thanks for your help.

Oh well, then you have no choice but to see if you can leave luggage as suggested by KL or get lucky and get a nights accommodation in Thong Sala.
