hostels near full moon also another question

im looking to see if anyone can recommend a cheap hostel near where the full moon party is. 10, 15 min walk wouldn't matter either.

also would it be cheaper getting the ferry and staying in koh samui.

cheers for any advice

Hi there

Most accommodations during full moon party requires minimum stay can be anything from 3-10 nights. The hotel located near the party the more they ask for.

Stay in koh Samui and go to the party by boat might be better options for you.

You can stay anywhere on the island and get transport to the party pretty easily and the further from Haad Rin you go the minimum nights tend to drop. You could look at Haad Yao which is a fairly lively and accessible beach on the west coast or somewhere like Thong Nai Pan Yai in the north which is a bit quieter, but would still be fairly busy during Full Moon. Most bungalow operators can organise transport, be it boat or taxi, to the party or as Pea suggest you could just go to Samui and not have to worry about minimum nights and just get one of the many speedboats over and back on the night/morning after.

Hi, depends on what you regard as cheap, and how long you are looking to stay. Staying out of Haad Rin means you will end up spending money on taxis/ ferries to and from the party which the lowest you would get it for staying in somewhere such as Tong Sala would be minimum 100 baht taxi each way plus the 100 baht entrance fee into Haad Rin. We have a hostel 30m from the full moon beach called Fubar Guesthouse with all the amenities AC dorms etc check out our website and see what you think :)
