Thailand in 3 weeks, please tell me about weather/restaurant

I will be going to Bangkok on 20th oct then to koh phangan . What is the weather like at the moment? Im a bit worried its going to be raining all the time! Also can you recommend any nice restaurants/bars? I'd like places that aren't too expensive in nice settings with lovely views.we are staying in the thong nai pan area in koh phangan but will be travelling around, and on soi 5 in bangkok. Many thanks!

Same answer as on your other post:

Sorry to say, but you are arriving in monsoon season, so you can expect rain (next week the chance of rain gets much higher) and possibly rough seas.

This excerpt from Camille's blog:

"Yesterday was mainly cloudy and around 2pm there rushed a mini storm over Samui for a short while with strong winds and heavy rain. Max temp reached 31.7C"

You will probably get a mixture of showers and rain.

It has been raining on and off for the past few days, but there has also been plenty of sun. However this is just the beginning of the monsoon season. I can not tell you what it will be like on the 20th as the weather here can never be predicted. But I can tell you that most locals say it is going to be a wet one, as it didn't rain for months. Still, last year there was very little in the monsoon season.

As for restaurants in Thong Nai Pan with nice views that aren't too expensive, try Longtail, The End (at Candlehut) or Thong Tapan.

Hi,

To follow on from KhaolakYoga:

We stayed in Thong Nai Pan recently and preferred to eat at the Longtail, the food was cheaper and seemed to better than that served at the Candlehut.
