Tata Tea Museum is located at the Nallathanni estate and the museum has curios and photographs that traces the growth and evolution of tea plantations in Munnar right from the tea sapling to an automated tea factory where it is processes. The Museum is a fitting tribute to the efforts put on by the initial planters in transforming one of the most popular hill stations and the epicenter of tea trade in Kerala : The entry fee to the Tata tea museum is Rs. 75 per person and you can enjoy a free cardamom tea along with the demonstration of the history of tea in Munnar.

top-station-munnar

Top Station is a view point at the highest altitude in Munnar and is located at a distance of almost 40+ KM’s from Munnar. If you are visiting Munnar, you need to be very lucky to reach top station when the sky is clear – without fog . It rains in Munnar frequently as a result of which fog covers the beautiful views from Munnar. The drive to top station is pretty long but the drive has beautiful views, tea gardens and two dams on the way. It is better to visit the Top Station initially and visit the dams etc on the way back if you are planning to start early from Munnar.

Hi minesh

welcome to kerala

you can travel in bus to munnar.ksrtc stand is near railway station and you can ask enquiry about bus time.there was bus in 6am,6:15am and 7:30 am(not sure of present time, check with depo enquiry directly on arrival). If there are no buses for a couple of hours, you may travel to adimaly (a place enroute munnar 30km away from ernakulam) and from there lots of bus are there to munnar.

Another option is you may go to private stand about 5 km away at vytilla.

By train, you could even get down at aluva and take a bus to munnar.ksrtc stand & private stand are nearby and you could take a bus to munnar.

You may ask your homestay whether any complinentary pick up is available or not.else ask directly about how to reach there.

If you can search some previous munnar forum topics, all sight seeing spots are covered in detail in previous posts.pls check

I been in Munnar long ago in 2006 to see Neelakurinjee flowers, traveled there from Thekkady (Periyar). So, I am not aware of the bus routes as inquired by you. However, 'Arun-Tina' has nicely guided you.
