New to Croatia, which town to stay...help please

where is the best place to stay in Makaskra area?.....read the guidebooks now confused???

We had out first Croatian holiday this year in Lopud.. now we're hooked. For those in the know, we absolutely love Lopud, but would not want anything quieter.

We are looking for that nice mix between lively and relaxed. So, is Brela too quiet, is Makarska itself too busy. What about Bask Voda ?

We are looking for a nice modern hotel in a good location for 10 day stay.....which will be half vegging on beach and the other half days out.to islands or inland. ideally we want few nice bars and

Dalamtian restuarants if we can find evening entertainment it's fine, but don't need nightclubs.

We stayed in Tucepi and that was a good place. I also think that maybe Makarska will be good too and not too crazy. Sounds like Brela might be a bit too quiet for you though.
