Appalling bus service to Cavtat

We have spent over an hour waiting to get the no 10 bus from Dubrovnik town to Cavtat. After a long wait the bus was almost full and those who pushed in hard managed to get on. The next bus didn’t even stop! How do we get to Cavtat with our free Dubrovnik coupon? I couldn’t stand for longer due to my back.

We've had that happen to us when we have stayed in Lapad and we just waited for a bus that was not full...not sure what else you could do.

The Cavtat bus can be crowded, The obvious solution to that is to go to the main bus station and get on there. As for queuing - when in Rome ...

We gave up waiting for the bus last year in Srebreno and ended up getting a mini van who stopped for us - same price as bus too!

When we came back from Dubrovnik one day we got the water taxi.

Not sure what you expect. It's a public bus. It's also out-of-season.

We initially tried to catch the return bus to Cavtat from the stop near the cable car station. The first bus that came in was pretty full and only the bravest and strongest managed to get on. We decided to walk back up the road to the previous stop. There were quite a lot of schoolchildren on the stop but when the bus arrived it was every man for himself and we managed to squeeze on. Have to say we had satisfied smirks on our faces as the bus sailed past the cable car stop.

It wasn't out of season last year when we were there. Or is June out of season?

We always got the boat from Dubrovnik to Cavtat. We stayed in Lapad previously and did Cavtat as a day trip, since then we've chosen to stay in Cavtat (as we will be doing in June) and then when going in to Dubrovnik we've got a bus there and a boat back.

Never got the bus and if anyone has any love of the sea ( admit conditions prevailing ) then go by boat and enjoy the landscape around too .

Has anyone got an Uber to Cavtat from Dubrovnik and know roughly how much it costs ? There will be four of us and wondering how the price compares to the boat ? We will have a Dubrovnik Card, but not sure I am up to the scrum !! Thank you.
