Thanks in advance:)

The Sheraton is close to the village with small shops and cafes. You can actually walk through a market on the way to the park, a short walk from the hotel. We did not see a decent place to eat in the village and took all of our meals in the hotel's excellent Sichuan restaurant. We bought snacks and drinks on our way back from the park.

We took the shuttle buses to Long Lake on the first day, visited Songpan one day and the shuttle buses to Long Lake another day. We walked between some of the stops on boardwalk around the gorgeous lakes. We also visited Tibetan villages inside the park. This takes time, otherwise you would be just sitting on buses all day.

We were there in November and it was quite cold at night so we were not keen to go out. One night we attended a Tibetan Music Show held in the hotel.

Sorry! We took the shuttle buses to the Virgin Forest on the other day. There are boardwalks which take you through the forest with running streams everywhere. Just beautiful! Because we had four nights we had a rest day because it was raining.

Yes, taxi from airport is a flat rate not charged by meter,on the way back to airport you should be able to get a cheaper rate, probably RMB200-250.

Go to post#5, click the link, then click plan your visit, you will find the opening hrs infor, the park is closed at 7pm. As suggested by Marj H in post#21, you can choose to attend the Tibetan Music/Cultural show. Or you can drop by Bian Bian Jie to shop for some souvenirs, it is located on the left side of JZG park entrance.

Your plan 1 day to do the Virgin forest and another half day for Long lake should be possible. You would probably have not much time walking around the lakes and have to make use of the shuttle bus for every stop. Alternatively for day 1 you can consider going all the way up to only the Arrow Bamboo Lake, this will give you slightly more time.

I guess you are aware that International is about 30km from JZG park entrance, Sheraton and Qian He are much nearer about 1 to 1.5km from JZG park entrance. I prefer to stay close to the park entrance.

If you plan for 1.5 days in JZG, another option is that you can consider our local tour package which is much cheaper, but the problem is that you may not be able to get the departure date that you want.

#Jazreel

If you can manage extra time it is really worth it! :-)

It's more than a year and a half since we were there and the experience is still vivid in my memory. I've travelled extensively around the world and Jiuzhai Valley National Park is one of those exceptional places.
