Lisa, An Excellent Tour Guide for Luoyang and Shaolin

We would like to 2nd all the recommendations for Lisa as your tour guide in Luoyang and at Shaolin. We spent a wonderful day touring with her in June. She and a driver picked us up at the Luoyang train station in the morning (we stayed in Xi'an), visited the Shaolin Temple, then the Longmen Caves, and dropped us off at the train station in the evening. Lisa was very knowledgeable and friendly. Her command of English was excellent. We found her to be a super nice and pleasant person to spend the day with.

Lisa was very accommodating. We missed our morning train in Xi'an, so we had to catch a later one. We called her up, and she was able to rearrange our itinerary and recommended changes that really helped with our reduced time in Luoyang. Because the weather was super hot and humid, along with our delayed start, she recommended that we visit Shaolin Temple first, then come back to the Longmen Caves. She said the Caves faced east, so the sun will be blistering down on us in the morning, and Shaolin has many trees and temples to provide shades; also, the caves will be less crowded in the afternoon. By Gosh, she was right! We visited Shaolin and watched the kung fu demo. We didn't get to the Caves until after 3 PM (we saved about an hour by having fast food for lunch, rather than a local sit down restaurant). The entire mountain side was in the shade, which made the heat much more tolerable. Also, there were not many tourists still around, so we easily visited the caves and took many photos/videos without having to wait for other tourists to move out of the way. Even Lisa said she was surprised at how quickly we were able to see everything without the normal wait times. Needless to say, thanks to Lisa's quick replan, we had plenty of time to see/do what we had planned (minus the sit down lunch) and to catch our train back to Xi'an.

If you want to hire a tour guide in Luoyang to provide you with in-depth and interesting knowledge of the various historical sights, we don't believe you can find anyone better than Lisa. Her email is woaibaby0918@163.com.

Thanks for that.

The Kung Fu show was probably the main reason we thought about visiting Shaolin.

I think we will chat with Lisa nearer our time with her. We are travelling for 5 weeks so will have plenty of time to review our plan based on what we have already seen.

I would like to add on to the great reviews for Lisa. We visited Luoyang a couple of days ago and had Lisa guide us through the history of the longmen grottos. She was very warm and friendly throughout the tour. We will definitely engage her again if we make another trip to Henan to see the Shaolin temple.
