Would it be a problem taking luggage up the mountain?

I just have a question regarding staying a night at the mountain. The 4 of us will definitely have one or two pieces of big luggage. Is that going to be an issue taking them up the mountain in the cable car if we want to stay overnight on Huangshan?

Are there places where we can drop off luggage in nearby towns?

Yes - because the hotels are not really near the top of the cable cars. There is left luggage at the bus stations - Tangkou or Tunxi, at the railway station, or you can leave at a hotel at the base if you stay there one night.
