We have a 6 hour lay over in Sao Paulo (on a Saturday afternoon). What can I do? Is there enough time to leave the airport and see one thing? We like to shop, eat good food, and/or go to a museum. Any reasonable suggestions would be great.

You can go to The traveller Spa by l´occitane to relax a bit
I agree with BF4, don't bother leaving the airport.
This is my post, I stand by it, and nothing has been taken from any other sources, to the best of my knowledge.

If by lay over you mean you actually have 6 hours to spend you can go to the city, but if you are talking about the interval between the arrival and the leaving you shouldn't try.
Another option would be visit the mall in Guarulhos. It's not the fanciest by any mean, but it's ok.
Thanks for the tips. It is a 6:25 minute lay over- flight to flight, so I figured we had about 3/3.5 hours to do something. I didn´t know how expensive it would be to take a cab into towm to see something (or do a little shopping- I love havianas). I also don´t know what the traffic situation is on Saturdays... looking at the responses, it seems that it is not enough time to do anything but wait in the airport. :(
If all you want is just doing a little shopping the mall in Guarulhos (at Dutra) starts to sound like a plan.

Thanks again for the advice. I just did a Google search for the mall, but couldn't find it. Does the mall have a name? Thanks! :)
There you go:
