Help with hotels

Pipa really seems that it is what we are looking for but i am having a hard time with finding accomidations. The most popular ones here on trip advisor seem to be quite far form town?

We aren't looking for a huge place , just a nice place maybe with a pool, no need for TV or phone, wihtin in reasonible walking distance to the town (5mins)?, we want to be able to feel comfortable walking back and forth at night.

Also the closer to the beach , the better for us, even a good view would be nice.

I had a look at Pipa.com, which shows alot of hotels but I cant figure out where they are on the map, as i dont know the layout of the town. and the guide books I have dont have any detail for Pipa.

Any advice would be appreciated,

Forgot to add,

We would pay up to $200 a night for the right place if we had to.

I hope that this finds you before you take a vacation. Please look at www.pipa.com.br. On the left middle of the page are country flags that you can click on that gives you an option for Portuguese, Spanish and English. On the upper left corner, near the large circular compass is a list of options in blue. Click on the blue colored "Map of Pipa." The next page will show you a rough map of Pipa and surrounding areas. when you run your mouse over the map you will see that it is "inter-active" and that you can click on any part of it and the next page will show the location of hotels by the numbers on a better detailed map. After clicking a number it will show you another page for that particular hotel, photos, and list of options. I hope this helps. If you need anything please let me know. I also own a villa in Pipa. Hi, I went backpacking in South America for 3 months in 2006 & ended up staying in Pipa for 3 years..... and came back to the UK with a Brazilian wife I met there.

R$200 is more than enough per night to get something comfortable. Might I recommend Pousada Cavalo Marinho?

Although I do know the owners this recommendation is without prejudice. Run by two Americans (who have both been part of Pipa's furniture for some time) it is an excellently run pousada (in Brazil, the distinction between hotel & pousada/guest house is a fine one) just up the hill from where all the action is on the high street & is wonderfully connected to all the local highlights.

You can find them at: http://www.pipabeachhotel.com/.

When I arrived, I booked into some cheap accommodation & then spent a day or two looking about for somewhere to spend a week or 2. Lots of accommodation there, great discounts for cash payments, etc.

When are you looking to go (if you've not left already!!!!)?

6. Re: Help with hotels

just read your post, I live in Pipa and own a hotel, which is listed on trip advisor with some great reviews, however there are over 200 hundred places to stay, of all types and standards......from very basic and cheap to more sophisticated and beyond.

Location is not a big deal in Pipa, the VILLAGE is just that, a village, nothing is far away, you can walk from one end to the other in under 20 minutes easy, very very few hotels are at the beach, some have views, but most of the beaches are below the village and are formed in small bays with access via stairs from the cliffs above, with the exception of the town centre beach, but this is not the best of the bunch for sure.

You should also be aware that staying in the centre is not always the right place, depends on your life style and group,if you are night people then the centre is for you, but if you have young kids or like to sleep early'ish, before 2am..............then I would advise somewhere of the centre.

For sure you will find something to suit your requirements, and it might be best to book only 1 or 2 nights in advance then decide when you are there whether you want to stay longer or move to another place, with so many options you can be sure there will be availability, except major holiday periods when you need to book well in advance.

Good luck and hope you enjoy your trip to Pipa.

Archie & Tania
