Authentic Brazilian restaurants/cuisine

Hello. I'll be in Rio in t-minus 56 days and counting. (Wooooo!!!!). Wherever I travel, I like to eat at a place that is most representative of the city or country I'm in. Where might this be in Rio? I'm sure there are quite a few and I've punched in "restaurants" in the search window to see other postings. Just wondering if anything might have closed or opened that I should try or what might still be good or not as good anymore.

So, any suggestions? I'm staying in Ipanema on Avenida Atlantica. Thank you.

Yes, I did. Some very good advice listed. I'll definitely give a few of these places a whirl.
