which beaches are best for snorkeling?

Planning to go to Buzios next month and would like to be able to do a little snorkeling off the beach. Which beaches have the most interesting stuff to see?

Almost all the beaches on the north side of the Peninsula (like those mentioned above) have calm, warm water and are good for snorkeling.

Hello!

As Gusdali said, Joao Fernandes is a great place for snorkeling, it is also one of the top places for diving in South America. In Buzios waters average around 72F (22 C) making it an excellent area to snorkel. Off of most of the shores of Buzios you will find areas with coral and a variety of fish and turtles making most of the area ideal for water exploration. Also if you are interested in a Catamaran tour they allow guests to snorkel off the side of the boat at certain stops throughout the tour, most tours stop at a variety of beaches and islands around Buzios.

Enjoy the warm waters of Buzios! Safe Travels!

Anything else than snorkeling, such as scuba diving... Do note miss the neighbor Arraial do Cabo!

As I've heard Fernando de Noronha visitbrazil.net/top-attractions/top-10-beach… is really great!

It is a cluster of 21 island beaches located in the Atlantic Ocean. This chain of beaches has plenty of marine life such as sea tortoises and dolphins. There is a natural wall that is the shelter for many seabirds too. These beaches offer beautiful landscapes and some spots have great waves for surfing while others have perfectly calm water. There is plenty of coral formation and it is a great location for scuba diving.

Southern peninsula braches like Geriba Beach and Tucuns are better for Surfing. Manguinhos, so Windy is the best for kite and windsurfing. Almost all the others are good for snorkeling.

Thanks for the info... Masha... I think that Fernando de Naronha is a rather significant distance from Buzios and I will not be able to go there this time.

Yes. Noronha is, in fact, one of the best placês in the world for scuba diving as well as its amazing landscapes.

But in terms of logistc it is not so doable for your itinerary now.

Plan it for your next Brazil trip, and do not miss some of the many other hidden coastal treasures of the northeast region of the country such as Salvador and Morro de SaoPaulo, Natal and Pipa, Maceio and Maragogi, Olinda and Porto de Galinhas...

By the way, Noronha is so wonderful for diving, not just snorkeling, that it is worthwhile to do a scuba diving course before the trip in order to emhnace your experience under the surface.
