Although I'm no Civil War expert, I can tell you that the Battle of Bull Run took place in Manassas, VA which is about 30 minutes west of Washington, DC in Prince William County. This was a major battle of the American Civil War.

Start with http://www.nps.gov/mana/home.htm to get information about Manassas, VA and the Battle of Bull Run (1st Manassas).

You can also get directions by going to www.mapquest.com

Interstate 66 to exit 47; take Rt. 234 North. The Battlefield is mere yards ahead.

Fordecs is quite right, and in these parts the battle (actually there were two) is properly referred to as the 1st and 2nd Battles of Manassas. When I was a kid my old Grandpa used to say, using the Northern name, that at the Battle of Bull Run all the Yankees that didn't run are still there today. At any rate the battlefield is very well maintained and well worth the trip out there for a few hours. I'm sure your boss will find it worth his while.
