Great Breakfast Place Between Austin & Johnson City?

We'll be leaving Austin early in the AM and driving towards Johnson City. Can anyone suggest a good place to stop for breakfast? Probably closer to Austin, since we'll be hungry, but outside the busy, rush-rush traffic zones. A bit of Texas atmosphere would be nice for these west coast travelers.

Magnolia Cafe is very Austin-y. On South Congress on your way to Hwy 71/290 heading out of town.

At the Hwy 290/71 split in Oak Hill is Jim's. It's been there forever and is very popular with the locals for breakfast.

Jack Allen's kitchen is fantastic for Sunday brunch and on the way out of town.
