I am going to assume you are staying at the Residence Inn on Montrose West Ave. If that is the case you have probably 25+ restaurants within a 2 miles radius from which to choose. As far as italian goes there are a few chain restaurants, all within a mile or less; Romano's Macaroni Grill, Olive Garden & Bravo Cucina.

If you are willing to travel 15-20 minutes you can go to one of Akrons Landmark Restaurants; Luigi's on N. Main in Downtown Akron. They have been in business since 1949. Their website is luigisrestaurant.com. They are a casual eatery that does NOT accept credit cards; cash only. But the food is unforgettable. There has been a lot of revitalization in that particular area of Akron; it's not a bad drive and the food is definitely worth the trip!! Enjoy your stay!

If you are looking to dine away from the well known chains, I would recommend Russo's:

The chef is Italian but was trained in New Orleans (may be slightly off with details) so they offer great meals from both regions. Delicous Italian Dishes and Tasty Creole. Don't forget to try a Hurricane!

The bar is fun because the kitchen is open and you can watch the talented chefs at work. Be sure to call for reservations or arrive early.

Its a scenic 20 min ride from the area you are staying.
