Lots of choices!

we are a mid-20s couple looking to go to Bodrum peninsula for a relaxing beach break, think we want to stay out of the main bodrum town in one of the smaller surrounding villages, but unsure which one!

We would like a good beach (clear water, clean etc) and good local places to eat with fresh local food that aren't too expensive.

We have been looking at Gumusluk and yalikavak...??!

Any tips and suggestions would be very welcome!! Thankyou

Yalikavak is also nice and Gundogan and Gümüşluk are quieter and more Turkish. Also have a look at Torba.

There's beaches at Yalikavak, but the water can be quite rough, and it gets windy as certain times of the year. But there's definitely a lot to keep you districted during the evening.

I like the beaches of Bitez and Ortakent, because they're calmer, and are shallow near the waters edge. It's easy to get from Bitez to Bodrum via dolmus.

On the northern part of the peninsula, Gundogan has a nice beach, but it's a little bit quieter. Evening entertainment is a drink in a restauarant, rather than a bar scene.

I love Gumusluk. There's a small bay, and plenty of restaurants and pensions for the evening, and it's easy to get to Tugutreis, Yalikavak or Bodrum from here. Just check the timings of the last dolmus before you head out.
