I need to fly between Boracay (Caticlan airport) & Cebu.
What is this airline like?
Sometimes on time but sometimes they don't.
Do not expect too much from them. They just fly you from point to point.
I think it is comparable to Virgin Blue?
Virgin Blue is now Virgin Australia: it does not fly (under its own steam) to Philippines.
Cebu Pacific is now Philippines' largest airline. I find it satisfactory. I have only ever had one delay of two hours with it; many other flights have been early or on time to within 15 minutes. Make sure that you adhere to its luggage allowances.
It's the largest budget carrier in the Philippines for no frills travel. The airline utilizes a small ATR turbo-prop aircraft which I find relatively comfortable for flights between Caticlan and Cebu. It's a short flight and about the the only worry would be for possible delays. They're particularly known for playing short games mid-flight and giving away token souvenirs as prizes to passengers.
Can you pay in advance for suitcase luggage of 20kg?
Do most hotels have transfers that take you from your hotel in Boracay to Caticlan airport?
Yes you can pay in advance but unfortunately, you can only pre-pay for 10kg. for flights to Caticlan. You'll have to pay P150/kg for any excess weight above 10kg.
I would say a lot of the more reputable small to large hotels offer transfers as an added option (with fees). Transfers from Caticlan airport is pretty simple though and can be easily done on your own. Just check the FAQ's on the upper right side for more info.Edited: 6:48 am, March 03, 2013
Cebu Pacific is okay, but the flights into and out of Catclan are more delayed or negatively impacted than any other route I will venture to guess.
rob -how are you getting to boracay?
Flying from Manila to Kalibo.
Then getting transfer to Boracay via road/boat/road.
ok but i meant what airline?
