This is I-pis Story...

I do like the friendly staff of adriatico pension inn along adriatico street corner pedro gil, manila, but what i could not stand was the infestation. I am a regular guest and lately the inn's housekeeping has gone bad. Roaches are everywhere. Two (2) cases in point:

1) I stayed there last week overnight and when i woke up my left knee was hurting. I didnt pay attention to it at first but after a couple of hours, when i was on my way to Palawan, my knee began to swell up and was really red. I had a doctor take a look at it and was told it was a cockroach bite. I was given medication. That was a week ago and it still hurts. I called the inn to let them know about my complaint.

2) two days ago i went back to the inn. During the evening i decided to have room service send me up a cheese burger with fries. I already had a couple of fries when i noticed a tiny, very dead and very fried (crispy) cockroach in amongst the fries.

This time i could not help it. I called for the manager and complained. I had been nice to them ever since i first stayed there, and the manager said so and was apologetic. He replaced my meal, but i had already lost my appetite.

He promised to give me more than a discount the next day. When i checked out i still had to pay for my meal which was replaced, which made me angry. I settled it and told the manager i would report his inn to the Manila health department.

Remember, if you dont want to get bitten by a huge roach while sleeping oor maybe even a mouse, STAY AWAY FROM ADRIATICO PENSION INN. I had to give them ipis of my mind (pun intended).

Sorry to hear your unsettling tale. Unfortunately, ipis are everywhere in Manila. I had problems at the five-star Intercontinental during my last saty there in Nov., 2007.

Chalk it up to the tropics, but having them in your food is unexcusable.
