Travel Agents in KL

Can anyone recommend a good travel agent in KL? My boyfriend and I are spending 2 weeks in Malaysia in March, and want to get from KL to the Perhentians via Taman Negara and possibly the Cameron Highlands. As we don't have that much time I want to arrange the transport & accommodation in advance.

Hi

It will be cheaper and easier to do it yourself beforehand.

The Perhentians are probabably not fully open in March, so you might need to check that out too.

Perhentians can only be reached by ferry from Kuala Beset on the mainland. These ferries take 1-2hours.

From Kuala Lumpur fly to either Kota Bharu and Kuala Terengganu with either Air Asia or Malaysian Airlines or Fire Flyz

You then need to get to Kuala Besut, which will take approximately 45 minutes from Kota Bharu or 90 minutes from Kuala Terengganu. The best way to get to Kuala Besut is by taxi, but you can also get to Kuala Besut by bus with Mahligai Express. Ferries leave Kuala Besut at 0830 – 0900, 1030, 1330 – 1400, 1630 – 1700.

From Taman Negara to Kuala Besut there is a bus service that leaves around 8am from Han Travel Counter (at Mama Chop Floating Restaurant, Kuala Tahan) and takes 5-6 hours.

Taman Negara is a long 4 hour drive north from Kuala Lumpur, it is 175km from Kuala Lumpur to Jerantut, and then it is another 68km to Kuala Tahan, the gateway to Taman Negara.

Kuala Lumpur to Jerantut by Perwira Ekspres 4 buses daily, then taxi to Kuala Temeling Jetty

Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Tembeling Jetty with NKS Travel & Tours. Daily buses at 8.30am to Kuala Tembeling Jetty from Kuala Lumpur. The minibus will depart Kuala Lumpur and arrive first at Sri Emas Hotel in Jerantut. After a 2-hour stop at Jerantut, the bus will continue on to Kuala Tembeling Jetty, then Kuala Tembeling to Taman Negara Kuala Tahan. http://www.taman-negara-nks.com/index.htm

You could also get the Jungle Railway, from Mentakab [ the nearest point by road to Kuala Lumpur and Kuantan ] the scenic lines runs up to Wakaf Bharu the station nearest to Kota Bharu for the Perhentians (via Merapoh - gateway to the less used gate into Taman Negara National Park or Jerantut - main access point to Taman Negara National Park

It is November now, that gives you 4-5 months to research what you can do. Whilst we all have busy lives now adays, if you can't spare a couple of hours to figure it out do you have time to go??

The Malaysian forum is a friendly place, pleases and thank yous go a long way when asking a question makes you seem less demanding and encourages us to offer our friendly and very useful help! I too don't have much time myself . . . . work full time as manager in local government working with the bereaved, support and run husbands business, go running, run the house, do the groceries, 5 children, 6 grandchildren, dog, life . . . . .. .

Hope that helps plan your holiday in your busy life!!
