Walking from Nankai Namba Station to Hotel Monterey Grasmere

Could anyone tell me if it is easy to walk from Nankai Namba Station to Hotel Monterey Grasmere. We have an evening flight into Kansai and may use the train. Hotel website says a short walk 10 mins but other posts I have seen on here said it is a bit confusing finding right exit. First time in Osaka so making sure we don't get lost if we decide to use the Nankai train. Thanks very much.

Namba Station is a huge station with multiple lines. It can be confusing to a first visitor for sure. With luggage, it'll take a good 15 minutes to get to the Grasmere from the Nankai platform. The limobus is a far better option:

Take the Limobus to OCAT. Head downstairs to the basement level. You will see JR Namba. Walk across to the other side of the walkway (like crossing the street except it has no cars, and it's underground). Monterey Grasmere has a basement entrance right there. There is also a supermarket where you can stock up on snacks, drinks, fruit and supplies for much less than convenient stores.

From Nankai Namba, it takes under 10 minutes to Monterey Grasmere going through the underground arcade. However, as Shibuyakko said, it will be confusing and slow when you have bags so use the limobus if possible. You will still end up walking in the arcade to get to central Namba, Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi.

In case you come via Nankai, you either ride in the elevator (that you locate on your left-hand side immediately you get out of the wicket area) and press B1, or go down 2flights of long escalators until you reach ground level/first floor. From here proceed to the underground level. In either case, you'll see a short escalator going down. About 30meters away from here (if you walk on straight into the underground passage, as you see colorful ads on the wall on your right of Takashimaya Dept), there's a perpendicular signboard (with arrows) overhead indicating 'JR Namba Sta.' Make a left here (as indicated) and proceed through lots of restaurants until the corridor merges into a large hallway. Again check a signboard here. JR Namba is on your left-hand side if you've walked through it. Not sure if your hotel is connected somewhere around here, yet I think it is as Sammyfloys says.

Yet in case you don't find it is, head straight to North Exit (JR Namba) and go up the escalator so you'll be at the surface level. The building (Grasmere is 'housed') stands right nextdoor, a stone's throw. If you see a floral shop in there then you're in the right direction.

Conversely if you ride on a limo bus to OCAT, which is on the second floor, then you don't necessarily have to go into the underground level: just take the escalator to the first/ground floor and then walk through the hallway so you'll be at "North Gate." If you turn right here and walk just a bit, then parked cabs will be in your sight. As you see the above-said floral shop on your right, you are quite able to reach the glass door entrance. Once inside, a large wooden (welcome) desk will catch your eye. Turn on the corner there and you'll be in the elevator hall in no time.

I stayed at Monterey when in Osaka. The limousine bus is the best option, 1000 yen/ pax/trip. Convenient and within close promixity to the hotel, maybe 2minutes. =) No better option.

There is Minatomachi riverplace including Namba hatch in front of the hotel (ground floor level) and there is a huge glass pyramid around the corner just beside Minatomachi river place building!!

My Aussie mate lives near the hotel!!

It is so easy to get lost if you are in underground level so if you get lost, just try go up to ground/1st floor level as there are many buildings so on you can see!!

I think bus is more convenient than nankai train to get to the hotel and bus for KIX from OCAT stop at the same level of international departure of KIX!!

Unless you can't stand the smell of gasoline on bus and/or you are freakingly obsessed with trains like me, you should be far better off by traveling by bus to OCAT for your hotel. Walking from Nankai Namba to Hotel Monterey Grasmere is quite confusing.
