vaccinations

Hi Is there anyone from the Uk that's been to Guangzhou? I was wondering what vaccinations they have had. we went to see the nurse the other day, but she seemed unfamiliar with what my son needed and has booked him in for Typhoid and Hep A only, has anyone had anything else?

1. Re: vaccinations

You only need to make sure your vaccinations are up-to-date. Everyone should have Hep A & B but if you are not indulging in risky behaviour or working with body fluids Hep A will suffice.

3. Re: vaccinations

Hi!

You can refer to the FCO website for some advice:

fco.gov.uk/en/…china

More specifically:

wwwn.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/china.aspx

BTW: My husband (Brit) used to work in China between 2004 and 2008 and did not have any vaccination whatsoever prior to his arrival. Personally I don't think it's vitally important to get vaccination in your son's case (short stay visit).
