From Narva to St. Petersburg

I'm planning 1-day visit to St. Petersurg during my short stay in Narva (Estonia). How is it better to get there? By car, if I rent one in Narva or shall I take a regular bus?

If I go by car I'd like to leave it on a carpark in the suburb (for example by a shoppnig center) and then take underground.

Can someone give me some advice?

The Russian-Estonian border crossing in Narva is notorious for the real chaos - waiting might be several hours long. Regular buses do not spend time - overtaking the line, so I would advise to use one of them (at least 6 daily buses passing from Tallinn to St.Petersburg and back). Check Luxexpress services.

Don't forget your visa - it can make your day trip more expensive than you expect.
