St Petersburg in the spring

We shall be in St Petersburg 21-25 May of next year. High on our list is Peterhof, does anyone know if the hydrofoils from the Hermitage Jetty are operating by then?

Also, assume that the US$ prices one sees quoted everywhere are just a guide & that everything (meals, transport & museum entrances etc) actually has to be paid for in Roubles. Is this correct?

Usually the end of May is warm and sunny in St.Pete so your choice is perfect.

As a rule the fountains of Peterhof are turned on in the middle of May (last year it was the Victory day - May, 9th). And as soon as the fountains are turned on the hydrofoil companies start the business. So you can expect being able to reach Peterhof by water on the hydrofoil leaving from the Hermitage pier.

Meals, public transport and museum entrances are to be paid in rubles. Some restaurants and cafes (fortunately more and more) take cards as well. Tips can be left in any currency.

Have a pleasant trip!
