advice on getting to & seeing volvograd

Keen on history,like others,interested in the struggle for stalingrad[volvograd]in world war 2.Can any one who has been give any advice,is it worth visiting,whats to see? Should like to hire/drive a car in russia then pass over into Poland then thru europe. Regards Braveheart45.

You must mean Volgograd. You can fly or go by train. I would try the train? It is about a 23 hour trip from Moscow. To fly or by train will be about the same cost. I would not even think of going by car, (if you want to live that is), hired or not. Russian drivers are crazy. They have monuments and such & it is a nice place to visit. If it is worth a trip or not will be up to you after you have been there your self?
