Good Restaurants and Bars For Aussies and Americans in Cebu

Going to be heading to Cebu here in about a month, and looking for some suggestions on places to eat and drink that are good hangouts for westerners. I'm just looking to relax at a place with good people. My Aussie buddy will be meeting us up there and thought that some people on this board could give us some suggestions. Any places in particular where Aussies tend to hang out in the city for restaurants and bars?

Thanks for the look.

How did the topic get onto the quality of Aussie food and hormone filled beef.

For me who has spent a little time in Australia(47 yrs)The beef is better than your spelling.If your going to bag something atleast spell your adjective correctly.

Haha! My sentiments entirely, Jamie! 'Appauling' spelling, and off-topic too.

Australia has the best beef in the world. So that poster has lost a lot of credibility.

.

....give me a Black Angus ribeye steak grilled over mesquite charcoal, baked potato with all the trimmings(chives, sour cream, butter), and usually with a glass or two of Napa Valley merlot. (Australian wines are comparable). However, an alternate of San Mig Lite to wash it down will do!

....that's your American fare. If you can find it in Cebu, please let me know. I'll be in Cebu in February, 2013.

@Papalo,

...David's in Mabolo, Cebu is known for their steaks. Also have a good wine selection as well. I personally wasn't impressed with my steak but maybe I went on an off day. Been around since the 90's that I know of. Give it a try.

Papalo

You can try Canvas Bistro in Ayala Terraces. No 2 ranked on TA at the moment and I had a good meal there last time I was in Cebu. Aussie owner and they do steaks. Even Meat Pies.

...Ah Canvas. Chef Steve likes his guests to order their steak, rare. He is quite passionate about it. Wants to make converts of Pinoys who prefer their meat well-done. ;)
