Is there a great beach or Eco Retreat hours from Manilla?

We have 8 and 11 year old girls and are staying in Manila because of my husbands work 6th to 25th Jan. We have weekend opportunities and hope to get out of the city. Might there be any Good resorts on the island or close to Luzon ?

We have just been to Boracay and its a bit overdeveloped and touristy for us. $500 a night is too Expensive for us but $250-$300 max would do it. Suggestions welcome

Talisay, Batangas close to Taal lake & volcano, are available mom&dad resort where you can stay overnight. A good homebase for visiting Tagatay views & dining oppurtunity.

Lemery will also fit the bill with a large number of resorts to choose from and also near to Taal Lake.

Coral Beach Club at Lian is apparently quite reasonable: I am going there soon.

Firstly, a little thank you will go a long way.

Other than Batangas and Taal, a little further south with a ferry ride will bring you to Pureto Gelera. Choose the non-seedy part.

Else head north to Subic.

I recommend Laiya in San Juan, Batangas where there are marine sanctuaries. Laiya is about 2 1/2 hours south of Manila by car.

Below are the hotels I am familiar with. Just search for them on Trip Advisor to see the reviews.

Virgin Beach Resort - I've stayed here. It is very clean.

Acuatico Hotel - I've visited the hotel but only for lunch. The hotel is also very clean with a nice infinity pool.

Estrellas de Mendoza - this hotel is about a year old.

La Luz Beach Resort - this seems to be a popular resort.

If you are looking for a B&B type of accommodations, try Residencia Laiya. I don't think they're on TripAdvisor but they're on Facebook. My husband and I stayed here last year and we really liked it. The only downside is there is no direct access to the beach. We had to walk through a private party, which the owner allowed back then, to get to the beach.
