Cruise ship visit

We're on a cruise ship which will be berthed in Colon from 1000 to 1700 hrs mid-Nov. Any advice on what to do and see plus any other relevant information will be gratefully received. So far have only gleaned that Gatun Locks is worth a vist.

Fort San Lorenzo is a great place too and not too far from the locks.

Thank you for the recommend, we'll certainly look into that as well. Presumably we could get a taxi to take us?

Borracho is right, Fort San Lorenzo is great, good hiking, nice small secluded cove/beach to get feet wet or do some snorkling, The Fort is interesting with great views. You can also stop at Shelter Bay marina on the way out or back and have a cold beer and a snack, they have a nice bar area.

To get to FSL you cross over the locks at Gatum, you can catch a cab, find one to hire for 6 hours, will not be too expensive. I am sure a lot cheaper than the excursions the ship would charge you for.
