My husband and I are going to Punta Caracol in Feb. I have read on the internet that if you are around rural areas of Boco del Toro you should have Yellow Fever vaccination and take precautions for malaria. Any thoughts on this?

1. Re: vaccinations

My husband and our business partner moved to Bocas six year ago. They were vaccinated for Yellow Fever but not Malaria since they were going to be living here. In the six years they have been here in Bocas they haven't seen anyone come down with either illness. For a brief vacation it is up to you, but none of our friends that come to visit us have been getting any vaccines.
