May 10th 2009!!! Headed to BT - first timers!

My wife and I are headed to the Maldives for the very first time and are extremely excited... I have purchased my own snorkel/mask, beach shoes, and tons of sunblock...

Any other suggestions?

How about the dress code? Is there one for dinner?

What are the must see/do excursions?

We are trying to stay in a villa on the NW corner. We have a Deluxe Beachfront Villa booked. No. 17 looks nice. Can we request a certain villa?

Hi

You can request a certain villa but they will not guarentee that you will get it but most islands do their best to get you what you want, i haven't been to this island but i would say that the dress code would be smart casual, take mozzie repellent just in case. The fishing trips are usually good fun to do and the inhabited island is good to see how the maldivians live, island hopping is always interesting as you can see what other islands have to offer

Dress code? being such a good looking lad like you, I wouldn't wear a dress! lol

not sure if you have seen BT website:

www.banyantree.com/en/vabbinfaru/index.html

the website will give you pics of excursions.

if you click on factsheet, it will give you a e-book.

other essentials:

sunglasses

cossie

old t-shirt for snorkelling so you don't get sunburnt

underwater camera (you can buy relatively cheap disposable ones)

land camera

have you not bought fins/flippers? ... you'll need those.....

Hi,

You dont need to buy fins / flippers etc they are provided free of charge at BT.

Dress code for dinner is smart casual - but more casual than smart if you know what i mean.

The must do excursion is the Dolphin Cruise, expensive but unbelievable.

We requested a specific Dlx Villa and got exactly as requested.

Enjoy BT, I'm very jealous, no holiday will ever come close (believe me - we've really struggled to find a nice holiday this year)

We're still deciding which resort to head to but BT is in top 2 - How/Where did you go to get a map of the island to choose which villa was right for you?
