Filitheyo Island Resort - February 23rd 2007

Morning All,

I thought I would post this note to see if anyone is going to Filitheyo Island in February 2007 - we are lucky enough to be going to this island a second time and have booked directly through AAA, has anyone done a direct booking before? apparently you pay the amount on arrival just slightly worried incase of any problems.

3 Months to go and counting !!!

we have not booked filitheyo , but usually book mirihi direct . the benefit is that there are fewer middlemen to drop the ball and if there was to be a problem , you are directly at the source instead of being told to find your rep which adds time and difficulty to resolving a problem .

i would prefer to speak directly to the island manager and get issues resolved "now" , instead of wasting vacation time hunting down elusive reps for tour operators who are located in male or on another island , waiting for call backs , then wait for them to call the island and , and , and.

also , by booking directly, you are pretty much eliminating falling victim to the annoying maldivian habit of overbooking . the "islands own guests" down't get shuffled off to other islands .

usual practice is to pay at the end of your stay .

Hi,

Thanks for the re assurance, just slightly worried as this is the first time we have booked directly, but as you said it cuts out the middle man hence if you do have problems you can sort it out their and then.
