Ramadan on Fili

Does anyone know how Ramadan affects the resort....does everything shut down between 13h30 and 20h00 and no food is available? What happens on Fridays?? More importantly.....is the Sunset Bar shut and are there any restrictions on alcohol availability during the day??? We going to relax and having a beer next to the pool at lunch time is what we have been dreaming about!

It has been Ramadan at least part of our last 3 trips to the Maldives (including Fili in 2005) and it has no effect at all in the resort. We got back from veli last week and the waiters mentioned that they were up a little earlier but there was no effect on food or alcohol being served to guests. It must be tough for the staff serving drinks in the heat and not able to take some water but they were all still smilingI don't think you have anything to worry about.

Ramadan will not affect your holiday in any way.

Most of the staff are from India and Sri Lanka, so not being Muslim it does not affect them , only local employees who follow the faith are affected and then you will not notice anything.
