Just about to go to KK. What is the shopping like there?? Looking for the designer handbags, wallets, clothes etc (or should I say the fake designer stuff).

Staying at Rasa Ria, what would be the best way to get to the main shopping area, is there not a courtesy bus from RR to city?

There is a shuttle bus to KK from The Rasa Ria. There is a charge.

There are 4 major Shopping Centres in KK (may be 5 now a new was was due to open about now).

There is also local shopping complexes lige Segma and Sinsuran for cheap local products.

You can buy all standards of stuff and even real designer stuff is a lot chearer than in Aust.

Go to the Sunday Markets in Tuaran, which is about a 10 minute Taxi rde from Rasa Ria and you will be able to buy Rolex??? etc watches and desigmner stuff or the Gaya St Markets in KK whgich are amad house where you can buy just about everthing.

Hi LTJSF

The Fake Designer Stuff is not so easy to get as it used to be. But ya, the markets still have.

There's a new place called Warisan Square - it's immediately infront (towards the waterfront) of Centre point, and although it's not fully open yet, has a host of designer stores with some cool and half-decently priced items. Most prominent is Starbucks (hey, designer coffee), Esprit, QuickSilver, Roxy, Blush and more that are opening. The ones there now would probably cater to what you want.

Other than that, there's not that much designer stuff - you can check out Palm Square on the 4th floor of the Centrepoint - they have Levi's, Guess, Nike Concept and another Starbucks (more designer coffee), plus some more labels. Centrepoint in general is a good shop for pretty much anything - most comprehensive mall in KK.

Also check out nearby KK PLaza (zzz) and on either side of the CBD you have Wawasan Plaza and Merdeka Square, the latter being better with literally a labarinth of shops.

There is a shuttle from the Rasa Ria and it does a curcuit that includes at least Centrepoint and Merdeka Square.

That's about it.
