what is the best way to travel from KL to PANGKOR iSLAND?
Bus or taxi to Lumut then ferry over to the island,
fly with Berjaya Air from the other airport in Kuala Lumpur, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport SZB was the old international airport at Subang and is 25km west of the city, don't confuse it with KUL the big international airport 55km south of the city. It takes around 60mins to get between both airports.
hiya sydney valeria, how uduin if i was you id get a coach from K.L to lumut, then its a short hop over on the ferry ,
you cant fly to pangkor at the moment as the airport has been shut for a while as they are trying to expand it to accomodate bigger aircraft, its been shut for some time ,
when i go i normaly get a plusliner coach or you could get a sri maju coach from puduraya bus station, i love getting the coach which drops you right at the waterfront then its a 20minute crossing to pangkor town x
hiya justchecked and found this , the airport closed last year in may ,
"" Pangkor Airport (IATA: PKG) is not currently served by scheduled airline operations. Previous services operated by Berjaya Air between Kuala Lumpur and the relatively new airport on Pangkor were suspended on 3 May 2010. Pangkor Airport, was previously served by flights from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport "", theres no news on when it might reopen x
There are no more flights available to Pangkor. Best way is to take the bus
Is it possible to rent a car and drive?
Does anyone know the beaches at the Goldcoast? Where also the Palm tree hotel is. Are these nice beaches?
Hi Debbie K; the beach has 2 tone color; the dry sandy white foreground and gets blacker at waters edge; the water average to murky. Its windy and more for beach combing and strolling, not bathing. You can google 'bagan lalang beach' and see the many pics section there and the palm tree resort. Hope it helps.
Thanks a lot AHisham!
Im looking to go to a beach not that far from KL, but heard that Dickson Point is not nice either... any suggestions for other beaches within 3 hours drive from KL?
Hmm, beach reccomendations are subjective and personal. Less polluted but not crystal clear waters; Cherating/Blue Lagoon, Pahang about 3 hrs drive, Teluk Chempedak,2 and half hr+ ,near Kuantan BUT monsoon season coming on the East coast late Oct till March. West coast Lumut beaches, Teluk Batik, Teluk Rubiah maybe 3 and half hrs. Might as well take ferry to Pulau Pangkor, clearer waters and nice beaches.
