The Pangkor Laut Resort is came from the same company as Cameron Highlands Resort in Cameron Highlands. Why not you should try to consider to enjoy the next 2 days in Cameron Highlands? Recently the celebrity like Keira Knightly was there, I would love to be there too. Or else u both should fly to East Coast to the Club Med in Cherating or to Nexus Resort Karambunai in Sabah. It's a heaven there!

I do not think someone who hails from New Zealand would find Cameron Highlands particularly interesting.

Air fares within SE Asia are quite affordable and you do not need to restrict yourselves within Malaysia. While I do not know where you have travelled to before; do try Bangkok for a totally different vibe, or Siem Reap (Angkor Wat) for a bit of history, or Bali for a dose of exotic culture etc etc

Hi,

It really depends on what you like. You already booked a nice seaside resort for one part of your honeymoon; why don't you try something else for the rest of the trip.

If you are into tea plantations and vegetable farms; Cameron Highlands is a good place to stay.

If you prefer to see more of Malaysian culture; take a trip to Penang for a few days and enjoy the temple scenes; Chinese New year celebrations (CNY is on 26.01.09, so celebrations will be starting a month ahead), old Georgetown and so on. Penang is easily reachable from Pangkor (about 2 hours from Lumut). You can either take a rented car or a bus from Lumut to Penang.

Good luck planning!
