Dear Katoodles,

you could take the ferry to Satun but it is nothing much there to do or see for one day.

Between Nov. and April you can also go to Koh Lipe either from Kuah or Telaga. Diving and snorkeling there is nice.

Regarding a trip to Koh Lipe:

There are now no transfers from Telaga to Lipe due to Langkawi Port Authority’s new rules effective from March 18th. The transfer is by ferry (not speedboat) from Kuah Jetty.

There are two dep from Lipe at 11.00 and 16.00 (thai time) with arr Kuah 14.00 and 19.00 (malay time).

From Kuah is one dep at 14.30 (malay time) and arr Lipe 15.30 (thai time).

Time at sea 2 hours.

As you see katoodles, you must stay over night on Lipe if you like to see the island and the fee for return ticket is RM236.

It´s no problem now when you go by ferry and the beaches are very nice with white sand and you can snorkel direct from the beach.
