Three of us (me+brother+mum) will fly into Kansai and spend a few days getting from Osaka to Tokyo. Dad will join us in Tokyo on Day 5. His flight lands at Narita at 6.40am. He is not into museums, and not too keen on history. He likes technology, food and basically just to explore the city and its people in general. Would this itinerary be good? He will only have Day 5 & 6 (two days) in Tokyo. Day 7 we leave early morning to Kyoto. (By the way, our hotel is NOT in Tokyo, it's in Atami, 50min shinkansen ride away)
Dad arrives 6.40am NRT -> activates 7-day JR Pass -> Train to Tokyo Station at 8.17am -> meet us at Tokyo station at 9.30am. He will store luggage at station -> Tsukiji Market + Brunch (10.30am to 12.30pm) -> Ginza (1pm to 4pm) -> Akihabara + Dinner (4.30pm till night) -> Tokyo Station, collect luggage -> Atami
Atami depart around 8.45 am -> Harajuku arrive 10am -> Meiji Shrine, Yoyogi Park, Omotesando (walk down to Shibuya) + Lunch + Shibuya -> Shinjuku (before sun sets, head to Govt Building for city view) -> Atami late evening
I left out Asakusa and Ueno area because my dad isn't too keen on historical attractions & museums, and we will be heading to Kyoto in the same trip.
Any comments? Thanks.
