One Week in July.

Hi,

I'm a 35 year old male that will be traveling alone in Tokyo in early-mid July of 2013. I am looking for some recommendations for where to stay (moderately priced), what to see (mix of culture, history, fun, nightlife), and where to eat (street food and fine dining). I'm also open to day trips outside of the city. Thanks in advance if you can help!

Please define "moderately priced" as a figure as this could mean different things to different folks. The most popular areas to stay are Shinjuku and Shibuya. Other good choices include Asakusa, Ginza and Ikebukuro.

What to see and do reference guide, including day trip suggestions:

Tokyo is not a big street food city. Many restaurants and eateries offer good quality food. It will be hard for you to locate the exact shop since Japan's address system isn't the easiest to understand. When in doubt, go to restaurants that serve one particular kind of food and you should normally get a good experience.

Thank you so much! Moderately priced would be around $200 USD a night.

Cerulean Tower at Shibuya or Century Southern Tower at Shinjuku would be my top recommendations. You will also find other hotels that fit your budget which is pretty good for a single room.

Awesome, thank you! Does anyone have any favorite restaurants? Steak house or sushi?
