Airport to Hotel(Rose Garden) & currency exchange

I have decided on 2 options to get from the airport to the Hotel Rose Garden in Shinjuku. Take the limousine bus to the Hilton and walk(i think it's around a 5 min walk), or take the Narita express train to Shinjuku train station and walk from the station to the hotel( i understand it's about a 10 min walk). Taking the train to Shinjuku is my preferred option as i don't mind the walk (as long as it's not too far or awkward) considering there is only me & my girlfriend & we will have only 1 suitcase with us

The help and advice i require is, is it in walkable distance from the station to the hotel and is it easy to find the hotel, could anyone please provide me with directions (i think we take the west exit) walking from the station to the hotel.

Lastly, I'm not too concerned about where to exchange my money, does the airport have lots of places to exchange money and is the rate reasonable/ok?

Any advice, comments, help would all be very much appreciated.

I suggest you to take the Narita Express to Tokyo, and switch to the Metro Marunouchi line to Nishi-Shinjuku. Exit the station from exit #1 and you'll find your hotel on your left. The transfer from the NEX to the Marunouchi line at Tokyo is short, and both Tokyo and Nishi-Shinjuku Stations have escalators.

If you want to take the NEX all the way to Shinjuku, you should take a taxi from the New South Exit to your hotel. The walk from the NEX track to the West Exit takes 10 minutes or more at Shinjuku Station, then it takes another 10 minutes to the hotel on foot (one metro stop away) as long as you don't get lost. There are lots of flights of stairs to the ground level after you clear the West Exit. It's very confusing and you can easily disoriented if you choose the wrong one.

Don' forget to get the Suica and NEX package.

Correction of error:

you can easily BE disoriented if you choose the wrong one.

I forgot to mention that you can find exchange counters soon after you clear customs.

Exchange rates at NRT: http://www.narita-airport.or.jp/exchange_e/index.html

I think you might use your ATM cards instead because you can get better rates. ATMs at Post bank (post offices), Seven bank (Seven Eleven / no Master), Citibank and Shinsei Bank accept foreign issued cards.

it is really not advisable for a 1st time visitor to Rose Garden to walk from Shinjuku station with luggage in tow. You will get lost.

Thank you for your speedy and helpful reply optimistk.

We will purchase the Suica and NEX package round trip, which i think is good value for 5,500 yen along with the stored value on it too.

I will take your advice and take the train to Tokyo and from there the metro to Nishi-Shinjuku. On our return five days later would you advise to take the same route in reverse order - take the metro from Nishi-Shinjuku to Tokyo and the train from there to the airport?

It's our first time to Tokyo, we will be arriving on the 4th Oct and we both can't wait, so excited.

Once again, thanks for your help and the useful links.
