I noted that there are only 2 capsule hotels in Tokyo with English website and female friendly. Capsule Inn Akihabara and Asakusa Riverside Capsule Hotel. Anyone can give me some feedback as of which is better in terms of nicer amenities and location? I will be staying 1 night on my own.

How about luggage storage? I read that Akihabara does have luggage storage but no mention with Asakusa. I have a trolley bag..

Also can I make reservation with Asakusa if I e-mail them? Don't fancy just turning up and not getting a room.

I intend to check in at 4pm. I read that Akihabara allows you to go in and out after checking in. Is that the same with Asakusa?

Finally, read a lot about high noise level with drunk Japanese men. Would this still be a problem in female quarters?

Capsule hotels are nowadays not the best bargain in town, as they mostly lack luggage storage space and provide little privacy (as noted). Try these super budget hotels which provide you with a private room with shared toilets and baths.

This hotel has an English website and is located in Minami-senju, an area full of budget hotels. http://www.hotelmaruchu.com/pc-e/

There is a brand new sister hotel called Hotel Maruchu Classico with 2 whole floors for ladies only. This new sister hotel does not have an English website yet but you can try emailing them in very simple English: info2@hotelmaruchu.com

Hi there! Thanks for your response. This business hotel is indeed cheap. Actually I just want to try 1 night at a Capsule Hotel for novelty sake. But I have saved the Hotel Maruchu's website for future reservation.

The capsule hotel in Akihabara sounds fine. They only have large luggage storage if you stay two or more days. In terms of location, and openess to women let alone foreign I think it is your best bet.

With women only floors I doubt drunk men would be causing any noise prolems. Keep in mind the whole idea behind a capsule hotel was a basic crash pad for business men who worked or drank til after the last train and needed a cheap place to sleep. The one in Akihabara seems to be big and busy enough that you would not be the first foreign women they have had stay there.
