Hakone ryokan

Hi,

I've narrowed down my possible Hakone accommodations to the following:

tripadvisor.com/…REVIEWS

tripadvisor.com/…REVIEWS

They seem pretty similar. Any insight on which would be the better choice, whether by personal experience, location, etc?

Thanks!

Hi there, both places look nice are you wanting a more traditional accommodation in Hakone? Will you have your own transportation? The only thing that comes to mind when I saw your location was the distance from the accommodation to the main area down by the lake and also riding on the cable car. Which I highly recommend. You might be able to embark and disembark at the top which is closer to your accommodation. We used the bus at bit when we went 6 years ago very good value you can get a 3 day pass which includes the cable car as well. Have you been to Hakone before? It is such a beautiful place. Enjoy your stay.

Thank you! We are looking for a more traditional experience. I think we'll be opting for Japanese style rooms at either location. We do not have our own transportation and will only be in Hakone for 1 day/night. It is our first time!
