All abt Nagoya

Hi all, i'm thinking of planning a 8 days trip for miy wife & my 2 teenage kids to Nagoya, Japan. We'll be touching down at Chubu airport & from this point i have no idea where i should go? Is there any blog which i can read so that i can follow the same itinerary as them or just settle down at one hotel in the shopping area & we'll just concentrate & explore that area. Many thks.

Inuyama Castle & Meiji Mura, Nagoya Castle, the Tokugawa Museum, Maglev Museum, one of Toyota Museums, Osu arcades, Atsuta Shrine, Seto ceramics town, Nagashima Spa Land, are among popular attractions in and around Nagoya.

Recommend a (day) trip to Magome and Tsumago. A stay trip to Gero Onsen and Takayama. Kyoto is 1 hour away by Shinkansen. Osaka Namba can be reached in 2 hours by Kintetsu Ltd Exp. Ise Shima is a prime resort, about 1.5 hours away from Nagoya by Kintetsu (Ise Shrine in Uji Yamada, Toba, Ago Bay).

Just because you're landing in Nagoya doesn't necessarily mean you have to stay there for 8 days. Tokyo is 2 hours away and Kyoto, one hour. Get the JR Pass and visit both. Your teenagers would love Tokyo.

Kyoto and surrounding areas have plenty to see. If you don't want to shell out a lot of transport money, that could be the base for this trip. Tokyo is a bit further away and costs more. If you visit both, then get JR Pass as suggested.
