Aqaba, Petra, and Bedouin camp

My husband & I will be staying in Aqaba but want to see Petra. (Probably just for the day). We are also interested in staying in a Bedouin camp. Would someone suggest which would be the best way to do those two things? Thanks!

At Petra we stopped at Seven Wonders Bedouin camp, just outside Petra. It is a couple of hours drive from Aqaba.

I liked Aqaba, but enjoyed my bedouin experience a hell of a lot more and would do that again over Aqaba.

you can hire a car and do the drive ( not difficult) until you get into Wadi Musa,, a few of the small junctions are confusing,, but you can not miss Petra driving down into Wadi Musa.....

or your best bet would be to ask your hotel to organize a taxi for the day,, with a drop off at Rum Village,, you will need to leave Aqaba early morning to enjoy Petra for the day,, and catch the sunset in Wadi Rum...

for a camp within the protected area of Wadi Rum, try:

I am not quite sure if you realise that the above recommendations refer to tourist camps. You will not find it easy to stay at a "real" Bedouin camp, very few of them accept tourists.

That said, these tourist camps are enjoyable, give good value - and tend to be more comfortable than the real thing!!

Hi,

I think you can go direct to Petra from Aqaba, visit and the night in a camp in Wadi Rum.

Or first to Wadi Rum, a camp then Petra the day after, visit and back to Aqaba.

A good guide or driver can take you and arrange everything. In Wadi Rum you will find variety of choices.

Good luck

Omar
