Hwange - camping and is it worth going?

We are planning a trip to Vic Falls and wondered whether it is worth going to Hwange. How far is it from the Falls and what is the road like? What are the camping facilities like in the park?

Is the borderpost at Pandamatenga still working?

Hi Karen

Yes Hwange is definately worth visiting. There are different access points but from Vic Falls to Hwange main camp is about 150kms and the roads are tar and in good condition.

The camping facilities are reasonable within the park. There are three large sites at Robins, Sinamatella and Main camp, then there are several smaller private site located throughout the park.

Pandamatenga is still working and will bring you into the North of the park by Robins camp.

Hwange Park is definitely worth it - no Jeep Jams and few visitors. Best to book into one of the private camps
