cancelled flights into Hue need advise on alternatives

We were booked to fly into Hue on 1st July then stay 3 nights and then fly onto Hanoi. We have been offered the option to fly into Danang but that is going to mean a 3 hour car trip both ways to Hue. Does any one have any other options for us.

The car trip into Hue via the Hai Van Pass offers spectacular views and is well worth doing. You could make the return trip to Da Nang by train (which is as cheap as chips) for equally and slightly different spectacular views. Think of this as an opportunity, not a liability :-)

Hey Lulu,

Everyone is in the same boat. As Yorky says, make the most of it!!! The scenery is awesome and believe it or not, a 3 hour trip in Vietnam is relatively short.

If you are getting into Danang late ish, find a nice place to stay and get up early and enjoy the Hai van pass on the way to Hue. We are doing this as well, and we are also doing the Tu Duc tomb on the way into Hue. That way we have not really lost any time and it will be time to book into the hotel after the tomb visit.

Food for thought. Just trying to turn a negative into a positive :-)
