Hoi An query with teens

Everything I read and watch about Hoi An seems to focus on the historical part of the town, the tailors and leather makers.

Lots of history and culture - is there anything else Hoi An has to offer or is that a true image of the town in general ?

Just trying to work out best amount of time to spend there with teens before they get bored :-/

Personally,

I think that Hoi an is the most teen-friendly place in Vn. It is pretty laid back and after a wander around you will feel comfortable with the kids heading off to do their own thing.

Very safe,

Didn't take our teens there but if I had - would have done one of group cycling tours like 'Love,of Life' and depending on time of year the beach would be awesome with teens. It's also a smaller less chaotic town and IMO would be fine for older teens to wander independently, say for an afternoon. A cooking class at Red Bridge which includes a boat ride on the river might also be fun, depending on your teens.

Must agree with others, great town and easy to get around, how old are the teens? , perhaps a push bike ride around town and out to the beach for an afternoon of swimming etc, a cooking class is a great idea or just meander around town and the markets, they will have a ball. Happy travels

We did the "Real Vietnam" cycling tour through Heaven and Earth Bike Tours it was a whole day cycling through Vietnamese villages and the countryside surrounding Hoi An. Very safe as it avoids busy roads and you definitely don't have to be a good cyclist to cover the distance everything is at a very sedate pace with lots of interesting stops along the way and an amazing lunch stop as well. If your teenagers are daughters they will love the old town and the shopping to be done there. Hoi An is very pretty to wander round at night and all the shops are open until about 8pm from memory.

Our neighbours at An Bang took their three boys on a day trip to Cham Island yesterday and had a great time diving and snorkelling. Visability and suitable conditions are dependant on the time of year though.

Hoi An actually as an amazing night life! It's incredibly fun (and much safer than big cities). You can do the historical visits during the day, or head to the beach, then participate in the city's vibrant life style later! There are some really nice bars with great music (and cheap drinks!)
