Hotels in Hoi An

Hi

After loads of research on various TA forums, we've finally decided on an itinerary for our Vietnam trip in May. We've decided on Hoi An as a beachy place just because there seems to be so much more to do, firstly is this a good call? (as opposed to Phu Quoc or Mui Ne)

Secondly where should we stay; we've looked at the Riverside Resort and Victoria as well as the Palm Garden. We really don't like big impersonal resorts and are looking for somewhere with a bit of character, a boutiquey type of place but it has to have a pool. Any thoughts? Also any suggestions as to places to stay in Ho Chi Minh?

Thanks!

Nic
