hi, thanks, haven't seen this before. Do you know any other tour operators? I am in touch with the one mentioned above and they want me to send the whole money for the trip to a bank account and I don't have a good feeling at doing so...

thanks

Hi Philipp,

Please, read this thread of mine tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g294474-i3663-k396… You will then hopefully have a better understanding of how the trips are arranged.

In Prypyat and Chornobyl as such there is not too much difference who you arrange the trip with as most programmes are more or less standard, anyway. The difference is in customer service and in getting you to and from the seclusion zone.

I’m not familiar with all companies offering Chornobyl experience, but those I know do ask for the 100% advance payment. So this is a norm, not exception. And from my personal viewpoint, asking to send money through a bank (not WU, Paypal or the like) is a good sign.

For my own trips, I used these two: the society of former Prypyat residents http://pripyat.com/en (trips arranged through http://www.chernobylzone.com.ua/ ) and …kiev.ua/excursions/… (use google translate, please).

Other operators reviewed or mentioned on TA:

tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g294474-d3… and tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g294474-i3663-k591…

tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g294474-d2…

Also, read through the trip reports collection (choose those for Chornobyl): tripadvisor.com/…28348864 There could be other companies mentioned.

Hi Baron and welcome to Ukraine forum :)

Just responded to your PM regarding the company.

As for the weather, I can't with all honesty say it's the best time for a photo-tour in Ukraine. The probability of showers in high enough; the quantity of sunny days lessens. And sometimes we even see first snow in November, although it doesn't stay.

But then each year is different, and there are no guarantees on what to expect half a year away.

We saw sunny Novembers as well, especially the beginning of the month. Also in the beginning of the month you might hit our scenic golden autumn.

While in the end-November the good thing is the trees are bare enough, so it's easier to shoot buildings not hidden by greenery.
