marmaris with toddler! advice please

We are travelling to Marmaris staying in the Club Anastacia in august for two weeks. My son has just gone 2 and i am little concerned about the food and obtaining nappies and squash for him.

Also is the food ok.

We have been to turkey around 6 timea but it was a good 8 years since our last visit.

We are self cateringm.. any ideas of cost of things out theee.

Many thanks

Hi tincx youl be fine Club Anastasia is only 5 to 10mins max to Kipa supermarket its part of the Tesco group so you can get most things you can get at home including your nappies and squash.

Food in Marmaris is great and very cheap either eating out or from supermarkets for snacks make sure when you go to ask for free kids meals most restaurants will give a 2 year old free meals but you have to ask if you dont they probably wont offer.

3 of yous self catering if you can manage £100 a day youl have a great holiday and most likely come back with some if you cant go as far as £100 per day you can still manage on alot less Alcohol is the most expensive spend in Marmaris.

Thanks, we have been before and stayed at the xanthos but it has been years ago.

This may sound silly but do you think my son will be able to be kept entertained... he gets bored here and has tons of toys etc...

Also is there good variety of food availible for children?

Where is the supermarket from the anastasia?

You will be able to keep him entertained no problem obviously you have the pool and kids club in the hotel 2mins walk from your hotel there is a crazy golf park with trampolines mini go carts and cars you put money in and little arcades just down from there you have a place called Havana bar just past Oasis restaurant Havana entertainment is run by Thomas cook its like a mini butlins the back of there is a large soft play area with loads of games and trampolines you can sit in Havana having a little drink while watching the little 1 playing you also have lots of childrens play parks dotted around resort.

Summer Breeze restaurant round the corner from your hotel had a small bouncy castle last year and the food was lovely.

Basically the restaurants will make him what ever he wants

If you come out restaurant side of your hotel turn left that takes you up to traffic lights at September bar next to that is the crazy golf park 2 mins down the road to your left youl come to Havana bar 5mins opposite way along road from September bar you will come to the main highway cross that road and you will see the huge green Kipa sign to your left.

Hi tincx

All the places that Stevie (STEVIEDEBZ) has mentioned are on this map. I have added the Xanthos Apartments (now called Angel's Suite's Marmaris) where you stayed the last time. For Kipa Supermarket you could walk along passed Club Ilayda and through the park up to the main road, but as you might not know the area, stay to the directions in the above post

You can get all your nappies out there, they have Pampers (called Prima in Turkey) or you can buy local brands like Molfix or Evy Baby, which are just as good but cheaper. You can buy wipes too but not nappy sacks so bring those with you.

Dont worry plenty of things for your little one to eat, you can get mash potatoes in the restaurants as well as chips.

a lot of places do set 3 course meals for around 19 lira, efes 7 lira and cocktails usually bogof

Does anyone know if there are safety deposit boxes in the rooms in the anastasia?

Also how much are things costing out there?

hi, tincx, if you are planning to take any baby items etc order them from the departure side of boots then pick them up just before departing, this saves on your weight allowance, just google your boots at your departure airport and give them a ring to place your order maybe a week beforehand and 24 hours just to check they have placed your order, also do not forget the calpol sachets, these work wonders for plane pressure on babes ears, 1, maybe 20/30 mins before take off does the trick and they also sleep for most of the journey. lol.

Can you take nappies in hand luggage and how many nappies can i order from boots? Wont they question me walking on the plane with packs of nappies?

You can but it is so much easier to get them when you arrive rather than taking big packs of nappies on the plane! I'm sure they must have a limit to the amount you can take too.
